Argyle Street crash cuts power to houses

A 21 year was taken to John Hunter Hospital after a car accident in Barrington on Wednesday night.

Police said the crash occured in Argyle Street at around 9.45pm on Wednesday May 7 when the vehicle was travelling west along Argyle Street.

Police said the Hyundai Excel left the road and collided with a telegraph pole and then rolled onto its roof.

Police said the 21 year old driver was taken to Gloucester Soldiers Memorial Hospital and then transferred to John Hunter Hospital with suspected spinal injuries.

Three houses in Argyle Street were without power for a short time as a result of the accident.

Police investigations into the the accident are continuing.
