13/08/2008 | The Magpies cemented their spot in the semi-finals after a dominant display over other finals contender The Hinton Hornets to the tune of 44 points to 14.
13/08/2008 | Wow, what a night for men’s tennis. Three matches were decided on the barest of margins, one game.
In the last set of the night Hedditches were wining five-nil only to be beaten in a tie breaker and consequently losing the match 36 to 35 to Coxes. This is par for the course for Coxes, nearly all their matches have been won or lost by the barest of margins.

Holstein v Richardson. A surprise win to Jean, Barbara and Gai, taking the match four sets/32 to two sets/26 with Gai running down all look-like winners from the opposition.
6/08/2008 | A strong team of Gloucester High School athletes competed at the Hunter Region CHS Athletics Carnival last week in Newcastle. Many of the school’s athlete’s have gained selection for the Hunter Region team to compete at the State CHS Championships to be held at Homebush in September.
6/08/2008 | 2008 marks 25 years since Avon Valley Field Archers was formed. One of our archer’s mother’s Trish Greenaway has spent much of her time recently researching the history of the club. We still have some older club members, Jeff and Irene Jennings involved in the club as well as Michael Greenaway.
