Mixed tennis champions
24/12/2008 | Des Merchant, Stuart Galway, Gai Falla and Julie Lyford are the champion mixed tennis team for 2008. They went through the competition losing only one match to the team that came in second place, Jono Hedditch.
Dressage club presentation
24/12/2008 | Manning Valley Hacking and Dressage Club held their annual presentation night on Sunday, December 14. Both Laura Harris and Rhiannon Jaegar had a very successful year.
24/12/2008 | Seventeen high school students visited us last Monday accompanied by Greg Green for a little instruction, but mainly for a fun couple of hours. Helen Murray, Ruth Westbury and John Murray assisted Bob Jones – you are always welcome whenever we have rinks available.

23/12/2008 | Torakan end of year Kyu grading was entertained with high standard effort from all students from Gloucester and Port Macquarie clubs held on December 13.
Seven-a-side cricket competition
23/12/2008 | The second annual seven-a-side competition was run on Saturday with eight teams all vying for the prestige of winning the day and the $500. Players from the local area and a few that returned for the big day added to the friendly atmosphere.
Bowls presentation
17/12/2008 | Our presentation day and Christmas party went off very well with most of our ladies in attendance. Special guests were president Jim Henderson from the men’s club, secretary manager Leo Dillon, greenkeeper Ray Cooper (who’s doing a great job) and Therese Ryan from the Advocate.
Under 13s Mid North Coast cricket
17/12/2008 | On November 30, Reece Bowden travelled to Port Macquarie to the Under 13s Mid North Coast Rep side trials. He was selected as a spin bowler and will travel to Ballina in January for a five day tournament. Well done, Reece!
Veteran golfers presentation
17/12/2008 | One of the great delights each year is the annual Gloucester Veteran golfers presentation night. This was held on Thursday, November 20.
Gymnastics 2008
17/12/2008 | Last Wednesday marked the end of another terrific year of Gloucester gymnastics. Our club numbers have steadily risen during the year, ending up with an exciting 35 enthusiastic gymnasts. With ages ranging from our little 4 year olds to 17 year old High Schoolers, the club has catered for all levels of ability.
Ridge riders news
17/12/2008 | On December 5 and 6 the Gloucester Ridge Riders held their Christmas Campout at Bucca Wauka, their final Ride for 2008. The Campout was held at Hans and Birgita Adzersen’s property at Bucca Wauka.
Soldiers jump into second place
10/12/2008 | Soldiers United, wooden spooners last season, climbed their way into second place on the senior cricket competition table with a hard-fought win over the improving Stroud Centrals in their match played on No.2 oval last Saturday.
10/12/2008 | The annual Pioneer Fish Farm and Gloucester Bowling Club Fishing Club charity event was again a great success. Local teams competed with teams from Krambach, Weston, Newcastle and Taree.
10/12/2008 | Under 12s Manning Coastal v Manning Highlanders, Sunday, November 23 at Gloucester No 2 Oval. Highlanders won the toss and sent Coastal in to bat on a very good looking turf wicket. Coastal scoring 4/147 from their 45 overs.
10/12/2008 | On Saturday members played the monthly stroke and mug event for the Gloucester Rural Supplies trophy day. Thanks very much Troy for your continued generous support of the golf club it is greatly appreciated by all our members.
10/12/2008 | Results from last Thursday. Division 1 Pearson v Relf. Although the rallies were good and long, the superiority of the Pearson trio was evident. Colleen and Lorraine came the closest to the winning set with a 4/6 loss.
3/12/2008 | With the green playing heavy after the rain it took bowlers a little time to adjust to the conditions last Sunday. Tom Donoghue’s team of Heather Williams, Jill Everett and Kevin Everett found their range sooner and this resulted in them winning over Mary Wade, Olga Sharpe, Barry Wade and Eric Latimore, so the Mixed Fours Champions for 2008 are Heather Williams, Jill Everett, Kevin Everett and Tom Donohue, congratulations to the winners and better luck next year to the runners up.
3/12/2008 | Division 2: Green v Wand. Three floaters used, two to replace Mellie and Emma and Christine Parkinson to replace Sjaan Wilson in Ruth’s team. Paula Blanch and Chris Dean opened with a tiebreak which Ruth and Kelli won but revenge is sweet when Paula and Chris took the repeat set 6/2.
Kick starting opportunities for youth
3/12/2008 | A boxing ring will be the centerpiece of plans by a local committee to provide opportunities for our youth. Club Kick Start aims to provide youth up to the age of 21 with a range of services, initially offering boxing and marshall arts to provide discipline and to help develop physical acumen among those taking part.
3/12/2008 | Saturday golf On Saturday members played a 4BBB and individual stableford event for trophies kindly donated by Garners IGA, as I have said before all members greatly appreciate the support our club is given by the Gloucester community.
