Tamworth was the venue for the Northern NSW Indoor Archery Championships on July 12 and 13, with twelve members of Avon Valley Field Archers in the field of 75 competitors for the event.

Each competitor shot six games of 20 arrows over the two days with some very close results. Avon club member Greg Wall top scored for the weekend with 598 points out of a possible 600, well done Greg. Other members placed well in their divisions, with the following results.

Freestyle unlimited Division, Greg Wall 1st. Peter Fairhall 6th. Geoff Edwards 8th. Lady’s Freestyle unlimited, Lynne Fairhall 1st. Barbara Vigenser 5th. Bowhunter Unlimited, Jeff Jennings 2nd., Twedor Hoffman 7th. Bowhunter Division, John Martin 1st., Chris Vigenser 3rd. Lady’s Bowhunter, Fran Martin 3rd. Sarah Edwards 4th. Men’s Recurve Freestyle, Reade Moffatt 2nd.

We are now preparing to hold the Northern NSW IFAA Championships at our home range on August 9 and 10. With an anticipated 80 to 100 entrants this will be a big weekend for club members.

Next Club round will be an IFAA event (practice for the following weekend) Sunday August 4 starting at 9.30am. For more information on Field Archery contact Jeff Jennings 6558 1935 or visit www.avonvalleyfieldarchers.com
