Could scorers please make sure that the score sheets are filled out correctly. Names of all players on court need to be written down and also which players are in the goal circle each quarter.
Results from games played March 29.
Sub juniors:
Green d Yellow 6-3. It is good to see so many eager little players turning up each week ready to play. Players from both sides are improving their skills each game and learning the art of team work. All players in this game played really well and I’m sure as the season goes on this will continue. Congratulations to all players on a good game.
Red d Blue 8-1. Again, another top effort by both teams, although Red on the day proved to be too strong, they got away to a flying start and Blue weren’t able to match them (but it wasn’t for the want of trying). Well done everyone, and keep up the good work.
Juniors:
Garnet d Light Blue 11-6. there wasn’t much separating these two sides in a low scoring match. Light blue got the better start but seemed to fade as the game went on, where as Garnet got stronger. Alex Steadman, Ellen Forbes and Sandi Thompson were the goal scorers for Garnet. Hannah West big effort at centre and Monica Babbage tried hard in defence. For the Light Blue side, their goals were scored by Maddie Andrews and Jaimi White. Natasha Oldfield played well through the centre court. Olivia Westcott and Abby Waddell both played well on the wings and in defence Sarah Debenham went well.
Points: 3 Hannah West, 2 Natasha Oldfield, 1 Alex Steadman.
Cherry d Black 11-3. Only three goals scored in the first quarter of this game. I’m not sure whether it was because of the attack breaking down or the defence being too strong! This trend continued throughout the game Natalie Turner and Molly Hutchen were the goal scorers for Cherry. Jemma Clarke was busy at centre. Meegan Johnson and Bobbi Kelly teamed up well in defence. For the Black team, Abbey Lawrence and Bronte Davis worked the goal circle. Sophie Kingston and Lauren Cameron tried to stop the ball in defence and Danielle McDonald good effort.
Points: 3 Meegan Johnson, 2 Bobbi Kelly, 1 Lauren Cameron.
Intermediates:
Green d Gold 31-28. A good steady game by both teams. A lot of work going on in the goal circle, in both attack and defence with neither team willing to give an inch. Goal scorers for Green were, Harlee Wilson, Brodie Preston, Ashlea Cameron and Misha Taylor. Kloe Hutchen played well on the wing and Emily Johnson top effort in defence. For the Gold team their goals were scored by Abbie Jones, Gemma Ray and Nikolah Deen. Kerrie-Ann Rumbel and Kate Forbes good efforts on the wings, and Natalie Ferris and Sam Wilcox worked well together in defence.
Points: 3 Brodie Preston, 2 Nikolah Deen, 1 Kate Forbes.
Pink d Olive 42-20. Pink were way too strong in this game and played really well as a team. Successful goal scorers were Alex Turner, Jemma Wilkinson and Rhiannon Jaeger-Michael. Mikaela White got some good passes away in the centre to her wings, Sarah Everett and Sage O’Neil. In defence, Taneal Preston led the way. For the Olive Team, Cody Williams had a good game in the goal circle. Taylor McSwan worked hard in the wing, and in defence Clair Deen and Jess Watt were kept busy.
Points: 3 Taneal Preston, 2 Alex Turner, 1 Cody Williams.
